Fresh Figs - sorry season finished

About Our Fresh Figs

We sell fresh figs directly at The Figgery and the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Market from around end-February and online, as weather and availability permit, during March/April.  With around 30 cultivars available there are plenty of options.  This year the season is expected to start late.

We only sell the highest quality fresh figs in season.  Supply is limited as we only sell a small portion of what we grow as fresh figs

When choosing fresh figs, select those which are plump and tender with a rich, deep colour for cultivar.

Fresh figs are best eaten on the day of purchase. If you do want to store figs, then keep covered in the refrigerator where they will stay fresh for about two days. Figs are best enjoyed simply with prosciutto or cheese, such as mozzarella or goat’s cheese, but are very versatile and delicious baked. See our recipes for some great ideas.
